A student project “Hand-movement training system for physically-disabled” supervised by Dr Henry Chan at the Department of Computing won the Gold Award and Most Innovative Award at the 2015 Pan Pearl River Delta Universities Information Technology Project Competition among 52 teams from 13 cities and regions.

Adopting RFID technology, the winning invention has integrated digital games, hand-motion sensors and a treatment information reporting system to help improve patients’ motivation for therapy in a fun way and allow self-training without the aid of therapists. Congratulations to the winning students: Ho Man-fai, Sin Ping-tat, Yau Chi-kuen and Yu Chin-ting.
