Congratulations to two academics at the Faculty of Construction and Environment who won three awards recently. Prof. Albert Chan, Head and Chair Professor of Construction Engineering and Management of the Department of Building and Real Estate, received the Local Grand Prize of Construction Industry Council (CIC) Innovation Awards 2015 and Premier Award of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) International Innovation & Research Award 2015 (Innovation Achiever’s Award category). His winning project was the anti-heat stress clothing for construction workers working under hot and humid weather.
In addition, Prof. Poon Chi-sun, Associate Head (Research Development) and Chair Professor of Sustainable Construction Materials of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, won the Second Prize of CIC Innovation Awards 2015 with his project “Carbon neutral construction products manufactured with cement and concrete wastes”.
