To demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit of creativity, leadership, passion, tenacity and ambition, PolyU earlier organized the event Visionaries Connected which gathered seasoned entrepreneurs to share their successful stories and explore the future of sprouting business. The two-day Entrepreneurship Conference of the event saw the enthusiastic participation of 220 participants.
Another attraction was the Poly-preneursTM Carnival which featured activities including Startup Exhibition, Hong Kong Enterprise Showcase, social enterprise fair, interactive workshops etc. The Carnival and its Opening Ceremony attracted over 5,000 visitors and some 250 guests respectively.
On 16 January, the University also organized the Good Seed 2016 Kick-off Ceremony cum 2015 Award Presentation Ceremony. Ten outstanding social innovation projects were granted with $100,000 each for project implementation. The awarded projects included online learning platforms for primary school children and the disabled, mobile matching applications to resolve the problem of out-patient services in public hospitals, and redesigned walking aid, etc. Details>>
