Congratulations to Prof. David Zhang Dapeng (left) and Prof. Zhang Lei of the Department of Computing. Both were named “Highly Cited Researchers 2015”, according to Thomson Reuters’ report The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds: 2015. The list identified scientists and engineers whose academic papers ranked in the top 1% by total citations in their subject fields between 2003 and 2013.
Prof. David Zhang, Chair Professor, received this honour for the second year. His research interests include biometrics, pattern recognition and image processing, information security, and neural networks. He is the author of more than 10 monographs, over 300 international journal papers and 34 patents in the US, Japan, the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. According to Google Scholar, his papers have got over 33,000 citations and his H-index is 82.
Prof. Zhang Lei is Professor and Associate Head of the Department. He has research interests in image and video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, biometrics, etc., and has published more than 200 papers in those areas. According to Google Scholar, his works have been cited more than 12,000 times and his H-index is 55.
