Spreading love to community during Chinese New Year
To engage the community during the festive Chinese New Year, PolyU Volunteers have taken part in various meaningful activities not only to serve the community, but also to spread their love and care to the needy.
- Light Rose Garden saw some twenty-five thousands of LED white roses planted along the waterfront during Valentine’s Day, part of which was set up by PolyU volunteers.
- PolyU & Neighbourhood: Chinese New Year Celebration for the Elderly offered a luncheon on 22 February for over 400 elderlies who live in Yaumatei, Tsimshatsui and Mongkok areas.
- Joy with PolyU: Celebration for Chinese New Year and Birthday with the Elderly saw relaxing and caring chats among volunteers and elderlies on 20 February.
- Home cleaning for the Elderly held on 30 January in support of the Salvation Army gave a hand to elderly people living alone in tidying up their places before the Chinese New Year.
- “The 7th Care Action Fundraising Campaign by Smile” Charity Hiking gathered volunteers to support the charity whilst getting active in outdoors on 28 February.
