Integrating a series of novel technologies, the iWheelchair jointly developed by the Interdisciplinary Division of Biomedical Engineering and the Institute of Textiles and Clothing earlier won a Bronze Medal at the Seoul International Fair 2015.
The users of iWheelchair can remotely control household devices connected to the system (such as electric curtains, TV and electric beds) through a tablet with touch screen operation. The system is connected to various sensors and integrates advanced functions related to safety, health and hygiene monitoring, automated alert and environmental control which cater for the users’ needs. In addition, the system links up all sensors via Bluetooth for sending out messages/emails to designated caregivers or family members of users in case of emergencies. Details>>
