Innovative students win tech awards

Under the supervision of Dr Henry Chan at the Department of Computing, the following three students scooped top awards at international and regional contests.

Vincent Pun Chi-ho won the Championship of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region University IT Project Competition 2016 (Hong Kong) with his App Inventor for iBeacon and Eddystone
Ho Man-fai was selected one of the world finalists among 35 counterparts at the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 with his innovative e-learning application “KinectGarten” designed to bring fun to kindergarten children
Li Yingxiong was honoured with the Best Student Paper Award at the 2016 International Conference on Communication Systems and Applications organized by the International Association of Engineers with his research paper titled “Channel allocation method for multi-radio wireless mesh networks based on a genetic algorithm”
