Prof. Michael Siu Kin-wai, Chair Professor of Public Design of the School of Design, was named a winner of the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme set up by the Research Grants Council (RGC). His winning project was a comparative study on inclusive design of open space facilities for visually-impaired persons in densely populated cities.
In addition, Dr Hua Tao, Assistant Professor of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing and Dr Lai Puxiang, Assistant Professor of the Interdisciplinary Division of Biomedical Engineering, were among the winners of the RGC Early Career Scheme and were honoured with the Engineering Subject Panel award.
