Prof. Teng Jin-guang, Chair Professor of Structural Engineering and Director of Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development, has recently been elected Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The highest national academic title in science and technology, the CAS membership is given to those who have made important contributions to the cause of science and technology in China.
Since joining PolyU in 1994, Prof. Teng has made an important impact with his research on the structural use of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites in construction and thin-walled steel structures. He hopes to leverage Hong Kong’s advanced research to contribute to the Belt and Road initiative as well as the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
