PolyU has recently established the University Research Facility in Big Data Analytics (UBDA), the first university-wide research facility in big data analytics among local universities. Pooling expertise in computing, applied mathematics and information technology, the UBDA will facilitate cross-disciplinary research collaborations, strengthen partnership with industries, and promote big data education in Hong Kong.
Focusing on three major research areas, namely Smart City and Smart Internet of Things, Finance and Healthcare, UBDA will provide consultancy service and technical support to the University’s research community and industrial partners. UBDA will also assist them in developing innovative models, algorithms and platforms for big data analytics and processing.
