Anniversary celebrations are underway to celebrate the rich heritage of the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS), Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (RS) and School of Optometry (SO) under the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS).
Celebrating its 45th anniversary, APSS has the longest history among all FHSS’s constituent departments and schools, having existed since 1973 as the independent Institute of Social Work prior to joining the then Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1977. Marking their 40th birthday, RS and SO evolved from the Polytechnic’s Institute of Medical and Health Care.
To celebrate these important milestones, a rich array of festivities was organised, including Distinguished Lecture Series, seminars, international conferences and open days.
