Making use of the rosewood chairs from an 80-year-old Chinese restaurant that has already closed down, students at the School of Design upcycled and created six chic benches for the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum’s “Seek See Sit! Bench Design Exhibition”.
Inspired by the revolutionary ideas of Dr Sun Yat-sen and social background of the time, the team put contemporary value into the antique seats, adding elements such as aesthetics, interaction and public participation, enabling visitors to understand history with a new and interesting experience.
