Organized by PolyU's Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation, this year's 10DAYFEST launched with a "Full Moon Party" on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Over a thousand attendees enjoyed a modernised Hawker Fair on campus, tasting regional delicacies and marvelling at cultural performances and traditional artistry offered by more than 50 social enterprises and traditional stalls.

One of the highlights of the Festival was "108 Stories of Social Innovation", a creative exhibition on social innovators which showcased the imperceptible but nevertheless valuable contributions made by thinkers and pioneers from different backgrounds who share a vision of making society a better place. Passing on cultural heritage to the next generation, senior masters also teamed up with young designers to lead exclusive workshops on Hakka unicorn paper crafting, seal engraving and Guangdong hand puppets.

The Festival saw impressive reinterpretations of traditional cultural performances, including a fusion of Hakka unicorn dance and modern dance; a crossover recital by famed erhuist Hsin Hsiao-hung, Suona player Agnes Ding and Malaysian pop singer Shila Smzah; a kung-fu fashion show; and Cantonese opera.

An Asian signature event in design and social innovation, 10DAYFEST lived up to its promise to get people engaged and inspired through a wide array of activities. Not only did participants see Hong Kong's creative community at its best, but they also gained the chance to encounter creative solutions to pressing social concerns.
