"Maker Faire" celebrates creativity "Maker Faire" celebrates creativity  

With the objective of conveying the message that "Everyone is a Maker", the School of Design organized "Maker Faire Hong Kong" on 28-29 November 2015 for makers from all over the world to exchange knowledge and display projects in the areas of arts and crafts, science and engineering, food and music, wearables, architecture and so on. Highlights of the event included "Timely Hong Kong" – a large installation that engaged 4,000 participants to co-create and mimic the landscape of Lion Rock; "Hebocon" – a robotic contest for the technically-ungifted; "WoT da Fun!" – a Hybrid Barricade Challenge featuring the creation of objects with wheels; "King Chung, the Model Maker" – face-to-face interaction with a renowned model maker as he made a canoe and "Hong Kong Open Printshop" – a series of DIY print-making workshops.
