Despite the success of the DISC lens, they are not suitable for everyone. For some it is a matter of choice, while those with particularly dry or sensitive eyes can find contact lenses uncomfortable to wear. They are also not recommended for those who are prone to eye infections, and younger children in particular may find it difficult to comply with the need for strict hygiene.
