Dr Yuan is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Previously he was an Assistant Professor in Department of Applied Mathematics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2023 – 2024). Before joining PolyU, he was a research fellow in NExT Research Center , School of Computing, National University of Singapore, working with Prof. Tat-Seng CHUA. Dr Yuan was a co-founder and the CEO of YIDU AI Private Limited (an AI start-up based in Singapore) from 2018 to 2020. His research has been published in in some prestigious academic journals and conferences, including Journal of Machine Learning Research, SIAM Journal on Optimization, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, NeurIPS, ICML, WWW, SIGIR, ACL. I have received Best Paper Award Finalist of ACM WWW 2021 and Top 10% Paper Award of ICIP 2014.
