The ETTE Symposium is one of the biggest university-wide teaching and learning events in the PolyU tradition, and provides an opportunity for teachers, educators, and students to share insights and experiences in teaching and learning.
The ETTE Symposium 2023 will be a full-day event conducted in a hybrid mode, with a focus on enhancing students’ learning experience through innovations in the curriculum, educational technology, and scholarship. We are very honoured to have a Welcome Address by our President, Professor Jin-guang Teng, an Opening Address by the Hong Kong UGC Secretary-General, Professor James Tang, and sharing by two PolyU recipients of the 2022 UGC Teaching Awards, which will all be conducted in person. These will be followed by an online Keynote Presentation by Dr Simon Bates, Vice Provost and Associate Vice President in Teaching and Learning, the University of British Columbia, and two hybrid Panel Discussions by academic staff, undergraduate students, and educators from other institutions. The afternoon session will include a second online Keynote Presentation by Dr Riel Miller, Senior Fellow of the Ecole des Ponts Business School, University of New Brunswick, and University of Stavanger; and Former Head of Futures Literacy, UNESCO, and a third Panel Discussion online by academic staff, a student, and an academic from another local institution.
An interesting feature of this year’s ETTE is the inclusion of five On-site Demonstrations of pedagogic innovations in different locations on campus in the afternoon. There will also be Online Presentations of some of the best learning and teaching practices by PolyU teachers.
