The internationalisation of higher education can be an exciting and rewarding process, opening up new opportunities for the entire academic community. As professionals and citizens of an increasingly connected world, all graduates of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will require international perspectives and intercultural skills. For many faced with the task, it is difficult to know where to start and how to maintain the momentum that is needed. In this workshop, we will explore different approaches to the internationalisation of the teaching and learning process and the student experience bringing examples from other universities/HEIs in different regions of the world.

Dr Carla Camargo Cassol da Silva is an internationalisation of education specialist with a broad range of experience in international education and educational management. She holds a PhD in Education from PUCRS (Brazil) and PhD Internship Program at Curtin University (Australia), a Double Master Degree in Business and Management at Unisinos (Brazil) and Universitéde Poitiers (France), MBA in International Business at Unisinos, a Specialisation Program on Teaching and Learning from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS/Brazil). She is also a researcher at the Center of Studies on Higher Education at PUCRS and the Coordinator of the Center of Internationalisation of Education Brazil-Australia at the same Institution. With over 20 years of working in the international education area, her specialisms include international cooperation management and internationalisation of higher education based on the knowledge management approach.
