A new corpus-based language pedagogy for pre- and in-service English teachers in Hong Kong and beyond
Abstract:
In the past few years, Dr Angel Ma and her team at the department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies of the Education University of Hong Kong have established a new corpus-based language pedagogy (CBLP). This innovative CBLP features inductive, data-driven and interactive learning, aiming to help students become independent language learners. This seminar will discuss some useful strategies for how to implement CBLP training for pre-service teachers from undergraduate and postgraduate courses at EdUHK as well as in-service teachers from Hong Kong, mainland China and internationally.
