Dr Gary Harfitt has been an educator in Hong Kong for more than 30 years. He was previously Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning at the Faculty of Education, HKU, where before returning to Good Hope School as Principal in 2021, the school where he first started his teaching career. The recipient of multiple teaching excellence awards, he has also published widely in areas such as class size, student voice, narrative inquiry, teacher attrition, language policy and experiential learning (EL). His EL team at the Faculty received the 2020 Gold Award in the Presence Learning and Teaching Category at the QS Reimagine Education Awards, the “Oscars” of Education.
