      Profile Update

  1. Why do I need to update My Profile?

    You are encouraged to keep your profile up to date to stay connected with PolyU and receive news about the latest development of the University as well as events, benefits and services offered to the alumni community.
     
    Upon signing in to the Alumni Portal, you may view and update your personal information, including contact, career, education and achievement.

  3. How can I sign in with my email?

    You can use your preferred email address to receive a One-time Password (OTP) and sign in to the Alumni Portal.

    If you are signing in with your email for the first time, follow the steps below:

    a. Click “Register Email or Forget Email”.
    b. Input your information for validation.
    c. You can use the email address shown to sign in, or update your preferred email address.
    d. A verification code will be sent to your email. Enter the code to complete the update.

    Thereafter, you can sign in to the Alumni Portal with the registered email.

    Please check the spam or junk folder in case you could not receive the verification code or OTP.

  4. How can I sign in with my Alumni NetID?

    If you already have an Alumni NetID, sign in to the Alumni Portal using your Alumni NetID and NetPassword.

     

  5. How can I sign in with my social account?

    You can link your social account to the preferred email address registered on the Alumni Portal. Thereafter, you can access the Portal by signing in your social account.

    If you are signing in the Alumni Portal with your social account for the first time, follow the steps below:

    a. Ensure that your preferred email has been registered on the Alumni Portal.
    b. Select to sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple or WeChat account. Sign in to your social account accordingly.
    c. Enter your email address registered on the Alumni Portal.
    d. Input the One-Time Password sent to your email for confirmation.

    The social media accounts linked to the former “My Profile & eCard” are no longer valid. Please link your social media accounts again to the Alumni Portal for sign-in.

     

  6. What if I could not sign in with the above methods?

    If you encounter any other difficulties, please contact the Alumni Affairs Office at alumni@polyu.edu.hk.

     

  7.      Alumni NetID

  8. What is Alumni NetID?

    NetID is a unique personal identifier and key to access the online systems of the University. 

    For PolyU alumni who graduated in 2011 or after, your Student NetID would automatically become Alumni NetID.

    For PolyU alumni who graduated before 2011 or Graduates of HKCC/ SPEED with PolyU award, please click here to register for Alumni NetID.


    If you have completed more than one degree in PolyU, you may have more than one NetID. Please contact the Alumni Affairs Office at alumni@polyu.edu.hk to confirm which one is your Alumni NetID.

     

  9. What if I do not have an Alumni NetID?

    Please visit the Alumni NetID Registration webpage and follow the instructions to complete the registration process. Please contact the Alumni Affairs Office at alumni@polyu.edu.hk if you could not register your Alumni NetID.

  10. What if I have forgotten my Alumni NetID?

    Please visit Forgot NetID or NetPassword webpage and follow the instructions to input your information. You can retrieve your Alumni NetID upon successful validation.

     

  11. What if I have forgotten my Alumni NetPassword?

    Please visit Forgot NetID or NetPassword webpage and follow the instructions to input your information. You can complete the reset process upon successful validation.

  12. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “The information you entered is not correct”?

    Please double check your personal details including your Surname, Given Name, Date of Birth and Personal ID, and make correction if necessary. For enquiries, please send email to alumni@polyu.edu.hk.

     

  13. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “According to our record, you have already registered an Alumni NetID before”? 

    For PolyU alumni graduated on and after 2011, your Student NetID would automatically become Alumni NetID.

    For PolyU alumni graduated before 2011 or HKCC/ SPEED alumni with PolyU Award, you may search your personal email with the keyword “Completion of NetID Registration” in the email subject to retrieve your Alumni NetID.

  14. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “Invalid Captcha”?

    Please refresh the Internet browser and input the verification text again.

     

  15. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “Display Name has already been used by other users. Email Alias has already been used by other users.”?

    Please input another “Display Name” as it must comply with the rule “Display Name can only contain alphanumeric character, hyphen and space only.”  Your preferred email address is automatically generated based on your display name.

          
  16.      Alumni eCard

  17. What is PolyU Alumni eCard?

    PolyU Alumni eCard serves as a photo identification for PolyU graduate, with which you can gain access to campus and enjoy specified alumni privileges. 

     

  18. Who can activate PolyU Alumni eCard?

    PolyU alumni can apply for Alumni eCard. All bona fide graduates who have successfully completed regular full-time or part-time programmes offered by PolyU, including its forerunners and constituent units, which led to academic awards accredited by the respective institution would automatically become PolyU alumni.  

    AAO reserves the right to approve or reject the application, and amend the rules and use of the Alumni eCard whenever deemed necessary without prior notice.

  19. How can I activate my Alumni eCard?

    Sign in to the Alumni Portal to activate your Alumni eCard. Update your contact information accordingly in the “My Profile” section. After that, go to “Alumni eCard” section and upload your photo. Upon successful submission, you can view the eCard right away.
     

  20. How can I enter the campus with the QR code on my Alumni eCard?

    Sign in to the Alumni Portal and go to “Alumni eCard” section to retrieve your eCard. When you arrive at the entrance, simply click “Campus Access QR Code” and then you can scan your one-day QR code at the turnstile.

     
  21. How can I generate campus access QR code for my guest?

    Sign in to the Alumni Portal and go to “Alumni eCard” section to retrieve your eCard. Click “Guest Access” then “New Campus Access” to enter the access date, purpose and guest name(s). Save and click the QR code icon to share the QR code(s) via email, whatsapp or copied link to your guest(s).

     
  22. How to quickly retrieve my Alumni eCard using mobile phone?

    Follow the steps below to pin Alumni Portal to the home screen of your smartphone for quick access:

    Android phone (Chrome browser)
    a. Visit the Alumni Portal with Chrome
    b. Tap the menu button and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
    c. You will be prompted to name the shortcut and tap the “Add” button.
    d. Chrome will add the shortcut icon to your home screen.

    iPhone (Safari browser)
    a. Tap the “Share” button on the browser’s toolbar. The button is located on the bar at the bottom of the screen.
    b. Tap the “Add to Home Screen” icon in the “Share” menu.
    c. You will be prompted to name the shortcut and tap the “Add” button.
    d. Safari will add the shortcut icon to your home screen.

    Thereafter, you can tap the shortcut icon anytime to access to the Alumni Portal and retrieve your Alumni eCard.

     
  23. How long does it take to get my Alumni eCard?

    Once you have successfully updated your contact information and uploaded your photo on the Alumni Portal, you can get your eCard right away. Thereafter you can sign in to the Alumni Portal to retrieve your eCard whenever necessary.

     

  24. What are the privileges of Alumni eCard?

    The Alumni eCard grants you access to the campus. By presenting the eCard, You can also enjoy discounts on food and beverages as well as banquet services offered by Hotel ICON. For other alumni benefits on and off campus, please visit here.

  25. What if I have trouble in updating my profile or activating my Alumni eCard?

    Please contact the Alumni Affairs Office at (852) 2766 4117 / 2766 4102 during office hours or send email to alumni@polyu.edu.hk.

     

  26. Which web browser should I use to access Alumni Portal?

    Up-to-date versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge is recommended to improve your browsing experience.

      

  27. In addition to PC/ web browser, can I use other device such as mobile phone or tablet to access Alumni Portal?

    You can use mobile phone or tablet with iOS or Android OS.
