Dr Gary Leung Chung-ming, a dedicated employee, had never anticipated becoming a start-up founder until he enrolled in PolyU's Engineering Doctorate programme, where he conducted research on indoor positioning systems. Inspired by his studies, Dr Leung took the leap and established Blue Pin, a thriving start-up that achieved remarkable business outcomes. Notably, their development of Dolphin IPS, a cost-effective indoor positioning system, earned them the Best of 2018 Award at the PolyU Entrepreneurship Parade 2019 and Gold Medals at international exhibitions. Patented in the U.S., China, and Hong Kong, Dolphin IPS has been successfully deployed in various venues, receiving commendations from clients in both Hong Kong and the Mainland.
