In terms of h-index, citations and research articles published, Professor Kwan has demonstrated research excellence as a nursing scholar, securing HKD 14.6 million of funding for his high-impact researches. His teaching-related projects and in particular, his virtual reality motor-cognitive system for training older adults with cognitive frailty, are now regarded part of the regular teaching methods in the nursing school curricula. He was also the Programme Leader of the taught postgraduate programme in PolyU’s School of Nursing, and is now a Professor of the School of Nursing at Tung Wah College.

Passionate about his profession, Mr Yeung not only performs his job as a nurse with shrewdness and accuracy, but also takes up teaching roles in the workplace to train his successors. As the Founder of the Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) course introduced to Hong Kong in 2009, he provides frontline nursing staff with a fast, simple and comprehensive method to manage stroke patients in times of emergency. He also elevated the role of nursing in specialism education and master’s programmes. His dedication to boosting the professionalism of the industry is evidenced by his devotion and selfless sharing of his knowledge and insights with co-workers and students, which help deliver better service to the public.
