Mr Dave CHEN Chun-wai

Mr Dave Chen Chun-wai, Head of Information Technology at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), has been recognised for his exceptional career achievements and contributions to industry. With over 20 years of experience in IT management and consultancy, Mr Chen was honoured with the World CIO 200 Award in the Legend Category from the Global CIO Forum in 2023. Most recently, in 2024, he received the Leadership Award in Open Architecture Standards from The Open Group—the sole awardee from Hong Kong. This award highlights Mr Chen’s exceptional efforts in contributing to the Enterprise Architecture community, and his role in implementing cutting-edge architecture in HKTDC's digital projects. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr Chen actively supports and contributes to PolyU. Since 2020, he has served as a speaker in career talks and departmental review meetings, as a guest speaker for master's programmes, as an interviewee in several promotional videos, and as a mentor in the PolyU Inspire Mentorship Programme.
Prof. ZHANG Kai
Professor, Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech and Nano-bionics (SINANO), Chinese Academy of Sciences
Prof. Zhang Kai's groundbreaking research, which focuses on developing novel terahertz optoelectronic devices, has made significant contributions to his field. His work on wafer-scale low-dimensional semiconductors and high-speed, high-sensitivity terahertz detectors has been transformative. These innovative detectors have been used in terahertz imaging and tissue analysis at Huashan Hospital in Mainland China, enabling the categorisation of various samples, including tumours and lesions. In recognition of his achievements, Prof. Zhang has received numerous accolades, including the 2020 China Semiconductor Top Ten Research Progress Nomination Award, and the 2022 China Association of Inventions’ Invention and Entrepreneurship Award Innovation Award. Beyond his research, Prof. Zhang actively contributes to the academic community. He has authored over 100 papers and has taken on leadership roles in numerous major conferences.
