My warmest and sincere congratulations to my alma mater, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on this occasion of its Golden Jubilee.

The results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 are testament to PolyU’s academic achievement as a world leader in a number of disciplines, including Civil and Structural Engineering.  I take much pride as a graduate from the CEE, not only for its enthusiasm to strive for excellence in teaching and research, but also its sterling contribution to providing an all-round education for students. 

I am sure that, building on the solid foundation laid over the past five decades, and with the visionary effort by all of its staff, students and alumni, the CEE of PolyU will grow from strength to strength and scale new heights in contributing to the betterment of Hong Kong, our country and the world.
