Visits by Secondary School Students
Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School

A group of 38 students from Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School visited CEE on 7 July 2023 (Friday). They were introduced to the recent developments in the civil engineering industry, together with the admission information of the BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development.

The students also had the opportunity to visit our Structural Engineering Research Laboratory and Geology Laboratory, where they saw demonstrations of the latest technology and laboratory equipment. It was a fruitful and interesting day for all of them.

Lui Cheung Kwong Lutheran College

A group of 24 students from Lui Cheung Kwong Lutheran College visited CEE on 5 July 2023 (Wednesday). Apart from learning about the recent developments in the civil engineering industry, they also received admission information regarding the BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development.

Students were then divided into groups to compete in the “Tower Challenge: Engineering with Straws, Tape and Imagination”, in which they must use their creativity to build a tower with only straws and tape. The best-performing group built a tower with a height of 42cm.

Students also visited our Structural Engineering Research Laboratory and Noise and Safety Laboratory. They all found the visit fruitful and enjoyable.

Stewards Ma Kam Ming Charitable Foundation Ma Ko Pan Memorial College

A group of 30 students from Stewards Ma Kam Ming Charitable Foundation Ma Ko Pan Memorial College visited CEE on 27 June 2023 (Tuesday). They were introduced to the latest developments in the civil engineering industry as well as admission information of the BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development.

Students were then divided into groups to compete in the “Tower Challenge: Engineering with Straws, Tape and Imagination”, in which they were required to innovatively build a tower with only straws and tape. The best-performing group built a tower with a height of 48cm.

Apart from the programme talk and workshop, students also visited our Structural Engineering Research Laboratory and Noise and Safety Laboratory. They all found the visit eye-opening and enjoyable.

Christian Alliance Cheng Wing Gee College

A group of 33 students from Christian Alliance Cheng Wing Gee College visited CEE on 20 June 2023 (Tuesday). Dr Andy Y.F. Leung, Associate Head (Partnership) of CEE, introduced the recent developments in the civil engineering industry and the admission information of BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development. The secondary students were also able to learn more about university life from a sharing session by current undergraduate students.

The students then visited our Structural Engineering Research Laboratory, which they found interesting and enjoyable.
