It is my pleasure to join the CEE family at PolyU. I am grateful to have been awarded the CEE Entry Scholarship for outstanding HKDSE students. When considering my choices during the JUPAS selection process, I took several factors into account. From a young age, I was aware that my father was an engineer, though not in the civil engineering field. As I listened to the intriguing stories from his decades of challenging work, I was inspired to pursue a career as an engineer in the future.
Moreover, whenever I walk down the streets, I would wonder about the construction and management of buildings. The eagerness to understand the underlying mechanisms and theories has driven me to choose PolyU CEE as my A1 subject. Additionally, I am mindful of market demand. The world is experiencing an increase in the number of construction projects, and the demand for skilled civil engineers is expected to boom. This may potentially increase the chances for job placement in the future.
Regarding my university life, I appreciate the relatively high level of freedom at PolyU. I am responsible for choosing my own path in learning. With effective time management, I can strike a balance between pursuing my hobbies and focusing on my studies.
