Minor Programme in Chinese History and Culture (Code : 77404-YCH)

The Minor in Chinese History and Culture is to facilitate students who wish to know the roots and gist of Chinese history and culture and to cultivate their ability to appreciate Chinese cultural heritage. Designed to complement major programmes offered in other departments in PolyU, the programme is also to strengthen students’ understanding of contemporary China and increase their competitiveness in the job market under globalization.

• The specific aims of the programme are to:
• develop students’ perspectives on critical issues facing China;
• deepen students’ understanding of Chinese history and culture;
• enhance students’ appreciation of Chinese history and culture; and
• reinforce student’s written and verbal communication skills in a bilingual learning environment.
