Collage describes both the technique and the resulting artwork in which where an assemblage of different materials are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface. In this workshop, Mr Szeto will guide the participants to use a variety of materials, such as leaflets, photos, posters and magazines, to create their own unique collage artworks. Participants will have a complete experience of sorting, screening, cutting, tearing and pasting.
Mr Marco Szeto is a veteran painter and was PolyU’s Artist-in-Residence 2002/03. He has participated, either singly or jointly, in over 50 exhibitions. He studied art in Italy and Spain in the 1970s and so his works contain Chinese and Western elements. He currently teaches in a number of universities and art institutions in Hong Kong.
拼貼速寫畫可令人發揮創意,將各種物料拼貼再加上速寫技巧制成畫。導師司徒志明先生將指導學員利用單張、照片、海報、雜誌等材料,結合各種紙材,經過分類、篩選、拼合、重組、撕、剪、貼等手法,製成一幅生動有趣的拼貼速寫作品。
司徒志明先生作畫多年,曾參與五十多個展覽,亦是2002/03年度理大駐校藝術家。七十年代曾留學意大利及西班牙學藝,作品融匯中西風格。現任教於香港多間大專院校。

Ceramics can be shaped by a range of methods. In this workshop, participants can learn how to make their own ceramics by the wheel-throwing method and decorate their works with glaze. The tutors will also share their insights on appreciating ceramics.
Ms Amie Chan completed the master course of ceramics in crafts and design at the Estonian Academy of Arts, and was awarded the Young Applied Artist Award for her graduation work - Fuzziness. In 2019, she attained a master's degree in Visual Culture from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In recent years, she has focused on studying temporality in contemporary pottery works and the performative elements of clay in different states.
Ms Ellie Ma has concentrated on different kinds of crafts throughout her tertiary studies at Hong Kong Baptist University, with a particular focus on the relationship between materials and drawings. Through her works, viewers can see her personal emotion and the expression of some of her life memories.
製作陶瓷的方法有多種,學員在這課程將會學習以拉坯方法製作陶瓷,並可嘗試以釉彩裝飾作品。導師並會講解如何欣賞陶瓷作品。
導師陳雅雯女士2021年於愛沙尼亞藝術學院修畢工藝與設計之陶藝碩士課程,以畢業作品 - Fuzziness 獲頒青年應用藝術家獎。2019年於中文大學取得視覺文化學碩士。她近年致力研究當代陶藝作品中的時間性,以及陶泥於不同狀態下的表現元素。
導師馬安兒女士2014年畢業於香港浸會大學視覺藝術學院。她致力研究物料和畫作之間的關係,視陶瓷為一種記錄生命的載體。她並透過探討陶瓷的脆弱性及釉彩的變化,把身邊發生的人和事記下。

Metal Art is a metal craftwork which is a long-established traditional silver jewelry manufacturing technique. It needs a lot of effort and patience to make a piece of jewelry from a silver wire and a silver slice. It is indeed full of challenges and fun! Let you make your favorite jewelry and experience the fun of "playing silver" in the metal art processing, it truly tests your strength and endurance. In this workshop, you can learn skills which include cutting, knocking, black silver oxidization, smoothing, sanding, and polishing.
Ms Leung Lai-shan has obtained a PMC Silver Clay Certification (Level One) from Japan, and has more than nine years of experience in holding workshops for making silver clay objects by hand.

In the handpan introductory course, participants will learn basic playing techniques, including proper touching techniques and hand coordination. The brief history of handpan will be introduced and theories of music will be discussed as well. Participants will also learn methods of improvisation, and compose their own songs on handpan.
Mr Ting Ho-Fung holds a Master of Philosophy in Material Science from PolyU, and is an experienced pop pianist. He started playing handpan in 2015, and strives to combine the methods of improvisation in pop music with handpan music. In 2016, he started learning the art of building handpan instruments. After two years of R&D and learning from handpan masters, he founded the first local handpan manufacturing studio in 2018, which aims to promote this unique instrument to the public so that more people can enjoy its mesmerising music and improvisational practice.
手碟有別於一般傳統樂器,它不會依照一般的樂譜去演奏音樂,而是着重即興演奏。手碟的獨特設計,有助初學者容易體驗到「玩音樂」的喜悅。這一手碟入門班除介紹手碟的簡史及基本演奏方法,包括正確的手勢及雙手的協調運用外,還探討「玩音樂」的概念。學員亦會學習即興演奏的方法,並以手碟創作自己的樂曲。
導師丁浩峰先生畢業於香港理工大學,獲物理學碩士,有多年流行鋼琴公開演奏經驗。自2015年開始鑽研手碟音樂,並把流行曲音樂的即興概念融入到手碟音樂當中。經過研究、實驗及與外國大師學習,丁氏成功研製出「香港製造」 的手碟,成為香港首位手碟製作師。丁氏並於2018年創立 Panlab,致力推廣手碟文化,希望更多人可以接觸到這一獨特樂器。

In this workshop, participants can learn the basic techniques of playing Djembe - West African drumming. Ms Jiff Yuen will lead the participants into collective music making, based on the West African drumming rhythm. Participants with no musical experience are welcome to join.
Ms Jiff Yuen who is under the tutelage of Mr James Kwan, a local West African drum artist, is committed to promoting traditional West African drumming in Hong Kong. She has wide-ranging teaching experience and is currently the music director of several African drum groups in primary and secondary schools. In 2008, she went to Guinea, West Africa, to participate in a master class led by West African drum master Mamady Keita, studying Western African music and culture.
導師袁毅津女士將會教授西非傳統樂器Djembe的基本敲擊技巧,配合傳統的非洲民謠,增添課堂趣味。學員即使沒具備音樂知識,也能體會非洲鼓的動感和節奏。
袁女士師承香港西非鼓樂專家關文亮先生,一直致力在香港推廣傳統西非鼓樂。她教學經驗豐富,現任多間中小學非洲鼓樂團音樂總監。她在2008年遠赴西非畿內亞,參加西非鼓樂宗師Mamady Keita的大師班,鑽研當地的音樂和文化。

In this workshop, participants will learn the basic techniques of playing ukulele, from reading music notation to harnessing the six main chords. Even without prior music training, they will be able to play popular folk songs and pop songs.
Mr Sam Cheung is the founder of the Hong Kong Ukulele Association. He started to teach ukulele in 2008, and has also performed in many events.
導師張家陞先生將教授夏威夷小結他的基本技巧及讀譜方法,學員即使沒有音樂知識,也能快速學會彈奏多首耳熟能詳的民歌和流行歌。
張家陞先生是香港夏威夷小結他協會創辦人,自2008年起教授夏威夷小結他,並曾多次公開表演。
*A ukulele can be borrowed from the tutor at a cost of $100 if necessary.
*Participants may choose to purchase a ukulele package, which includes a ukulele (Model: Sole MC-90), ukulele bag, ukulele strap and digital tuner (Model: A’ama AT-200), at a cost of $450 from the tutor.

Legend has it that Wing Chun originated from the Southern Shaolin Monastery, or Nan-Shaolin, and became known among the people in mid-Qing dynasty. Eventually, Wing Chun saw different lineages with many well-known Wing Chun practitioners. Guangzhou Wing Chun is easy to learn. Yet, the forms are dynamic and require time to master the essence of the techniques. Participants will be taught about the history and theories of Wing Chun. They also have the opportunity to practice the basics of Wing Chun with the assistance of wooden dummies.
Master Kwan Kam-fan has practiced Guangzhou Wing Chun for over a decade. He is also a Hong Kong Chin Woo Athletic Association-recognised trainer and has been the association’s board members for many years.
Master Woo Lap-chiu also has years of experience in Guangzhou Wing Chun. He once represented Hong Kong twice in martial art competitions. In 2015, he won three individual gold medals at the 10th Hong Kong International Wushu Competition.
相傳詠春拳源於南少林,於清朝中葉流入民間。及後人材輩出,產生了不同支系。廣州詠春拳精簡易學,只包含四套拳、一樁、一刀、一棍,但内涵豐富,須假以時日方可領會精進。廣州詠春拳初學與應用,旨在讓學員認識詠春拳的源流和拳理,並親身淺嘗學習詠春拳的基本功、散手應用,及廣為人傳的連環衝拳、小練頭及詠春黐手,並輔以木人樁練習。
關錦勳師傅習廣州詠春拳十多年,為香港精武體育會認可教練,並曾連續多年獲委為精武會董事。胡立超師傅同樣習廣州詠春拳多年,曾兩度代表香港參加武術搏撃比賽,於2015年第十届香港國際武術比賽奪得三面個人金牌。

Hung Kuen is a southern Chinese martial art. Some of the well-known contemporary Hung Kuen practitioners include Wong Fei-hung (1847-1925) and his first disciple, Lam Sai-wing (1861-1943). A key characteristic of Hung Kuen is taolu, or set routine practice. The hallmarks of Hung Kuen include “Taming the Tiger Fist”, “Tiger Crane Paired Form Fist” and “Iron Wire Fist”. Weapons that accompany these hallmarks include knife, sword, stick, large guandao and three-section staff.
Master Oscar Lam is the fourth generation successor in the Lam family. Since an early age, Master Lam has practiced martial art with his father and accompanied his father to teach Hung Kuen overseas. He once won the all-round championship at the first and third World Hung Kuen Competition. Master Lam loves arts and sports and is committed to promoting the development of marital art through the combination of three distinctive elements: art, martial art and sport.
洪拳是中國南方拳術之一,近代著名的洪拳名家有黃飛鴻(1847-1925)及其首徒林世榮(1861-1943)。洪拳的特點是較集中於套路練習,著名的拳法有 「工字伏虎」、「虎鶴雙形」、「鐵缐拳」等,配合的兵器有刀、槍、劍、棍、大關刀和三節鞭等。
導師林存浩師傅是林家第四代傳人,自小跟隨父親習武,並跟隨父親到國外教授洪拳,曾在首屆和第三屆世界洪拳大賽中奪得全能冠軍。林師傅喜歡藝術和運動,致力研究結合藝術、武術和運動這三大元素,以嶄新的方式繼續推動武術發展。

A unique experience and dialogue with the renowned artist to promote inspirations and communications. Under Mr Tang Hoi-chiu’s guidance, participants will visit the established contemporary Hong Kong ink painter, Mr Raymond Fung’s studio. He is a well-known architect and artist who created his unique style by blending ink painting techniques and contemporary visions, and is particular acclaimed for depicting landscapes by manipulating brush work, light and shades, which reveals the Hong Kong artistic identity.
Mr Tang is former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Currently a member of PolyU’s Culture Promotion Committee and PolyU Curator-in-Residence 2021/22, he has curated many exhibitions of Chinese and Hong Kong art. He has also served as an adjudicator and nominator for local and international art competitions.

Participants will join Mr Tang Hoi-chiu’s guided tour at the University Museum and Art Gallery of The University of Hong Kong in Pokfulam. The museum will present a major exhibition on the Chinese painting master, Ding Yanyong, who is a pioneer of modern Chinese painting, featuring about 120 representative works. Mr Ding was active in the Mainland and moved to Hong Kong after the transition of regime in 1949. He was one of the earliest tutors and helped in the founding of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Art Museum and nurtured numerous students. Mr Ding excelled in painting birds, flowers, animals, figures and landscapes by blending western and ink painting. This would be a key exhibition to enable participants to understand ink painting and the accomplishments of this master.
Mr Tang is former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Currently a member of PolyU’s Culture Promotion Committee and PolyU Curator-in-Residence 2021/22, he has curated many exhibitions of Chinese and Hong Kong art.
