Biography

Dr Lin received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2020. She received her B.Engr. from the School of Electronic Information and Communications, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, and her MPhil. from the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr Lin is serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (TNNLS). She is a member of IEEE and ACM, respectively. 


Her research interest is in AI for science. She focuses on developing machine learning (ML) techniques (GNNs, diffusion, etc.) to accelerate scientific simulations and design (applications in materials, structure safety) and creating AI with safe and ethical objectives. Specifically, she focuses on interpretability, robustness, and privacy-preservation of machine learning models, such as large language models.
