Why FCE

Highly regarded in global rankings of academic subjects, the disciplines of Architecture and Built Environment and Civil and Structural Engineering that are offered by the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) are both ranked 14th worldwide (2nd and 1st in Hong Kong respectively) by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

FCE’s programmes prepare students for professional careers and leadership positions in a range of disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Environmental and Building Services Engineering, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, General Practice Surveying and Land Surveying. Most of them are accredited/ recognised by professional organisations like The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the UK’s Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health of the United Kingdom (IOSH), and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES).

We work closely with industry to ensure our programmes are relevant and meet the changing needs of society. Our graduates are sought after by major corporations in a range of industries, from banking to construction to government departments.

All-round learning to promote students’ holistic development is emphasised in a variety of schemes, such as exchange programmes, study tours, overseas visits, and internships etc. Through Work-Integrated Education and Service Learning, you will gain practical work experience that will help you transition to the world of work after you graduate.

4-year undergraduate scholarships are available for outstanding local and international students. We also have exchange scholarships for our students to broaden their horizons by studying for one semester or one year in an overseas university of their choice.
