Ir Dr Lee, the Immediate Past President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), has become a well-expected engineering professional in the field due to his expertise, leadership, and passion.
Ir Dr Lee is a highly accomplished professional engineer with expertise spanning several key engineering disciplines, including mechanical, building services, environmental, chemical, and energy.
He has amassed an impressive career spanning over 35 years, during which he has gained extensive hands-on experience in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a wide range of energy, environmental, and infrastructure development projects.
Currently, Ir Dr Lee serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Associated Engineers, Limited, a reputable multi-disciplinary E&M engineering firm established in 1961. In this role, he oversees the overall management and strategic direction of the company, leveraging his deep technical expertise and strong leadership skills to drive the organization's success through changes and innovation.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ir Dr Lee has demonstrated a strong commitment to the engineering profession and a dedication to applying his skills to tackle complex challenges in the energy, environmental, and infrastructure sectors. His extensive experience and technical prowess have undoubtedly made him a highly valued and respected figure in the engineering community.
In addition, Barry has been dedicating his time and expertise to serving the engineering community for over 24 years. He has been actively engaged with different learned societies and organized numerous activities to foster the professional development of the members. Through his leadership and active participation, he has significantly contributed to the growth of the engineering community, professional development opportunities, as well as the strategic directions of these professional bodies. Recently, he awarded the “Medal of Honour (MH) by the Hong Kong SAR Government in recognition of his contributions in the development of the engineering profession, particularly in upholding the standard of engineers in Hong Kong.
