Following the extension of its services beyond gifted children to cover all children, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Yan Oi Tong Au Suet Ming Child Development Centre Re-naming Ceremony was held on 21 March 2018.
The Centre has been in operation since 2010 and has provided training and services to more than 600 children aged from 3 to 15. In addition to gifted children, the Centre started to provide services to children with hyperactivity or lack of concentration in recent years.
Professor Timothy W. Tong, PolyU President, expressed his sincere appreciation to Miss Clarea Au Suet-ming and Yan Oi Tong for their long-term support for PolyU at the ceremony. He said, “The Centre’s new name reflects our practice for diversity. Apart from helping gifted children to develop their potential, we must also help children who have encountered some problems during their growth. This will help promote social harmony and it is also the most needed culture and spirit in Hong Kong today.”
