PolyU Foundation hosts appreciation reception to honour members

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Foundation (PolyU Foundation) hosted an appreciation reception on 23 August 2024 to honour the enduring support of its members towards the University. The event welcomed new and upgraded members from the PolyU Foundation, including Honorary Life Members, Life Members, Senior Members and Ordinary Members.

Dr Sunny Chai, Chairman of the PolyU Foundation, conveyed his sincere gratitude to the members for their generosity and unwavering support, which have been instrumental in propelling the institution forward.

Dr Miranda Lou, Executive Vice President of PolyU, extended a warm welcome to the members and shared insights into the University’s recent advancements in education and research. She highlighted the remarkable achievement of PolyU in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, where the university climbed eight spots from the previous year to 57th, a record high for the University. PolyU also demonstrated exceptional performance in various key indicators, securing the second position in "International Research Network" and the third in "Citations per Faculty" within Hong Kong.

As a gesture of appreciation, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the members by Dr Lou and Dr Chai. After the reception, the members visited the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab (Air Lab) and X-Reality hybrid classroom (HIVE), where they gained further insight into PolyU’s achievements and ongoing initiatives.
