Are you aware that our campus events are ‘greener’ than those in the past? You may wish to know that PolyU is making every effort to motivate the University community to implement environmentally friendly practices in events. In addition to the existing campus sustainability policies and guidelines, the University introduced the Green Event Checklist requirement in April 2019. Since then, Departmental booking users have to complete an online Green Event Checklist during venue reservation for Covered Wings, Exhibition & Counter, and Other Venues (Chan Sui Kau and Chan Lam Moon Chun Square and Area outside CCST). Such requirement presents an opportunity to educate event organizers and participants about the benefits of adopting a more responsible attitude in event planning.
The University is now ready to bring greater convenience and help campus event organizers along their way to complete this Green Event Checklist with ease! From 1 December 2020, all Departmental booking users can download and submit the Green Event Checklist (in a fillable PDF format) via the FMO Venue Booking System directly, offering a one-stop mechanism to submit this Checklist.
Join us, and you will have green event practices down to a fine art! Your well-planned actions are highly rewarding – they can keep event costs down, reduce significant negative impacts such as solid waste to the environment, and make your events more satisfying for attendees!
