Vision and Missions

To compare our present state against our highest aspirations, to look ahead five to 15 years and seek to identify areas—existing and new—where HTI has the opportunity both to improve itself and to lead in teaching and research.      

For HTI, we are committed 

1. To building distinguishing characteristics of our Faculty:
   Exceptional faculty; Highly sought-after graduates; Innovative & sophisticated curriculum; Vital community partnership, both locally & globally
   
   
2. To addressing the challenges in today's health care and promote excellence in teaching, research and service. More specifically, our missions will be: 
   • Advance and preserve knowledge on human health.
   • Educate the next generation of allied health professionals—including practicing clinical staff, advance practice staff, faculty and researchers—and the general public.
   • Provide service that promotes the health and well-being of diverse individuals, families, communities, populations and systems.
     
     
3. To improving the general health and well-being of the public. In pursuit of its goals, the department will be committed to excellence in education of various healthcare disciplines and research. The department is also dedicated to ethical conduct in all its activities. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethics, as a beacon for our community and the world.  Our department will be home to many of the unique life and health sciences research and teaching programs at PolyU.  We will step-up and build into a productive and highly collaborative research community with excellent scientific resources and facilities. 
   
   
4. To obtaining research achievements that will have tremendous impact on the daily lives of HK and Mainland China citizens, through discoveries and  innovations that help patients, and new knowledge that  advances our understanding of health sciences at its highest levels.
