Immune system plays a key role in major diseases including cancer, inflammation, cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Yoo's group aims to develop diagnostic imaging techniques focusing on identification of specific immune cells. Current projects include development of glioblastoma theragnosis strategy by targeting macrophage polarization and in vivo imaging of immune cell behaviors using high-resolution intravital microscope. |

Dr Zou Xiang’s research has focused on mast cell biology and mucosal vaccination. For mast cell research, the two functional arms of mast cell biology, i.e., their classical role in allergy and the more recently appreciated roles in regulating adaptive immunity are both addressed. For mucosal immunizaiton, the focus is on the development of new classes of mucosal adjuvants that can efficiently boost immune responses to mucosally delivered vaccine antigens. These research projects aim for making substantial contributions to our understanding of allergy, vaccination against infection and other clinically important problems. |
