RA - LED is supported by PolyU’s Advanced Optics Manufacturing Centre of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of PolyU. It focuses on developing advanced LED lighting solutions. RA – LED light bulbs and tube designs incorporate new LED filament technology and are environmentally friendly. The designs emit less heat than traditional designs and are free of ultraviolet emissions, mercury and redundant electrical components. Over 80% of the LED filament materials can be reused or recycled. In addition, the light bulbs consume 90% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and have an impressive 50,000 hours lifetime. RA - LED lighting products mimic the natural sunlight by emitting light in all directions (360°) with a high colour rendering index and minimal flashing.
RA - LED will be targeted at buildings where 24/7 lighting is needed. By adopting the “pay-per-saving “ model, users will receive free installation of the lighting system and will only be charged based on the electricity fee saved.
