CCS Tech is led by Professor Chi-sun Poon and Dr. Shipeng Zhang. Professor Poon is a renowned expert in the field of sustainable construction, who is the head of the CEE and the director of RCRE. Dr. Zhang brings extensive expertise in carbon capture and utilization. Together, they provide strong R&D capacity and technical leadership to the team. Their key members also possess entrepreneurship and management experience.
At CCS Tech, they have developed a groundbreaking technology that enables the utilization of flue gas directly without treatment, converting both gaseous and solid wastes into diversified high-value products in nano-macro scales. The advantages of their technology are manifold. A considerable amount of CO2 can be permanently captured. Moreover, their technology overcomes the compositional variation issues commonly found in waste concrete, enabling its utilization in new civil works without compromising quality or structural integrity.
