NeutralCrete Limited will commercialise innovative and PolyU-developed carbon-negative biochar construction materials and provide consultancy services for carbon dioxide utilization. The major products include carbon-negative multi-functional biochar and high-performance biochar construction materials. NeutralCrete Limited will also provide consultancy services on CO2 capture, sequestration, and utilisation. The industrialisation of the products is expected to significantly reduce the carbon emissions and foster a circular economy. NeutralCrete Limited will pave the way for tackling grand challenges concerning the establishment of local standards for engineered biochar production and its novel applications for the construction industry, standardised assessment of technical performance and environmental merits of biochar-enhanced construction materials, and public acceptance of eco-friendly construction materials.
