O-Breath

O-breath is a photonic strain sensing device which is developed for detecting repeated large deformation with specially designed notch structure on polymer optical fiber (POF) by detecting the transmission power of the POF. O-breath has a maximum working range of up to 30% strain, which meets various applications requirements in wearable electronics, healthcare, industrial engineering, etc. O-breath has a high repeatability and low hysteresis, and will not produce electromagnetic interference. Therefore, it can be used in nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI) application for breath-rate monitoring.
