Opening Ceremony of Research Centre for Design for Safety
We marked a significant chapter in the Research Centre for Design for Safety (RCDfS) journey as we celebrated the grand opening on 27 June 2024.
We were honoured to have a distinguished team leading the RCDfS. Ir Prof C.S. POON, JP, serves as the Director, with a team of Associate Directors comprising Ir Prof Vincent Ho, Dr Nicole Yiu, and Ir Dr Tony Sze, Committee member comprising Cr Dr Daniel W.M. Chan and Dr Jacky Chung. Each brings unique expertise and vision to propel our centre towards integrating safety into design practices.
The event commenced with an insightful welcome address by Ir Prof C.S. POON, setting a profound tone. Ir Prof Vincent HO then took the stage to elaborate on the objectives and future plans of the RCDfS, emphasising its pivotal role in the industry. Followed by the keynote speech by Mr. Rex WONG, JP, Chairperson of the CIC Committee on Construction Safety.We were also delighted to have Dr Nicole YIU announce the Asia-Pacific Design for Safety Award Competition to recognise outstanding contributions in the field.
