Co-organized by the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development (RISUD) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic and the University Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, a division of the Chinese Academy of Science (GIG-CAS), the 4th GIGCAS-HKPOLYU Joint Workshop on Environmental Science and Engineering was held on 19 December 2015 at PolyU Shenzhen Research Institute.
The one day annual workshop aimed to provide a key platform for more extensive collaboration on research, education and training in environmental science and engineering between the two institutions. The workshop has brought together about 90 scholars and research students from both institutions which consisted of 19 oral presentations in four sessions, and 41 poster presentations. To encourage active participation of young researchers, a majority of oral presentations are from our PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. Similar to last year, about 20% excellent oral and poster presentations were selected by a referee committee consisting of professors from both sides. Outstanding were rewarded with certificates issued by GIG-CAS and PolyU.
