Research Project Title: Modeling the effect of weight stigma on weight management behaviors and psychological distress among young adults: A prospective study
I received my BSSc in Psychology from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2016. After that, I served as a research assistant at RS, PolyU, where I discovered my research interest. My research centres on the effects of weight stigma on emotions and weight management behaviours. More specifically, I am interested in the connection between weight stigma, physical activity, eating disturbance, and psychological distress. My research could provide evidence on how weight stigma exacerbates the weight issue and leads to perpetual problems of health and well-being. My additional research interests include other psychosocial variables related to the weight issue and weight stigma (e.g., quality of life, problematic internet use) and the study of other stigmas (e.g., substance use stigma).
