News and Events
I hold a master’s degree in epidemiology from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Medicine from Soochow University. Prior to starting my studies at PolyU, I served as a research assistant at CUHK, focusing on the statistical analysis of data collected from large-scale primary care projects for the elderly population. Broadly speaking, my main research interest centres on how exercises improve depressive symptoms and cognitive functions in older adults. Understanding the effects and underlying mechanisms is crucial for planning evidence-based health promotion practices that target the aging population. And there is a high potential for the translation of research findings into public health practice in the community.
RS offers me an optimal environment and curriculum to grasp the advanced methodologies and techniques for carrying out my research. In addition, I am very glad to pursue my PhD under Prof. Hector Tsang’s supervision. The opportunities to collaborate with well-known professors in the areas related to my research interests are also desirable for me. I am confident that the PhD programme will hone my professional skills in studying and addressing the threats to health outcomes of the population.
