【#WeArePolyU – Fight against Virus】In what ways can big data analytics generate significant value in the prevention of disease infection?
Along with his research team, Luo Weidong, alumnus of PolyU Department of Computing as well as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Mobile Limited, has developed a monitoring platform for data analytics of the Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The platform identifies potential virus carriers and predicts movement of population from areas with risk of outbreaks. Covering 334 Chinese cities, the platform has been providing data support to assist in disease control and prevention in various areas in the mainland, thereby enhancing the efforts to contain the outbreak.
