Our Dr Nate Ming Curran has co-authored an article with Faculty of Humanities’ Doctor of Applied Language Sciences (DALS) student Jinyan (Stephy) Wang, in the prestigious journal TESOL Quarterly. Their article, "Competing for Views and Students: The Implications of Platformization for Online Language Teaching," examines the accounts of two popular English teachers on the social media platform Douyin.

The article delves into the impact of platformization on TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), exploring how it shapes the identities of language teachers in the realm of social media.
