Research

Title of thesis: (Tentative) Mental wellbeing in an increasingly liminal and fractured world: leaps of faith in complexity and contemporary society

Description of thesis research: My project focus is to examine the mental health and discourses of South Asian and African migrants in Hong Kong during liminalities and life transitions. There is value in understanding transitional discourses due to the noticeable rise of transitional periods and experiences that people encounter in the present day. In response, I will attempt to elucidate the discourses of transitions of migrants in Hong Kong to understand further the sociocultural elements that influence transitions, and how they can impact both identity construction and individuals’ mental health.
