Department of Applied Physics Department of Applied Physics 129 Qualification BSc (Manchester) PhD (Manchester) Postdoc (Manchester) ORCID ID 0000-0001-5632-5224 Dr TSANG Yuen Hong Peter Associate Professor Research Overview My team is capable of fabricating, optimizing and characterizing novel 2D nanosheets e.g. PtSe 2 , PdSe 2 , In 2 Se 3 etc. and quantum dots e.g. PtS 2 , WS 2 etc. Additionally, we fabricated various 2D materials based laser or devices including Q-switching laser, ultrafast mode locking fiber laser, optical limiter and photodetectors, etc. I have many years’ research experience in near to mid infrared fiber laser, nonlinear optics and novel optical materials development used for laser photonic device development. Recently we have done some research work on solar freshwater generation and that can help to solve drinking water shortage in some areas.
