Entry Scholarships for Undergraduate Admissions
FCE Entry Scholarship and Bursary for Outstanding HKDSE Students
With the aim of recognising students with outstanding results in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), the Faculty of Construction and Environment (FCE) offers the “FCE Entry Scholarship for Outstanding HKDSE Students” from the 2024/25 admission exercise onwards.
Eligibility
All local students^ admitted to any full-time UGC-funded Bachelor's Degree programmes/ schemes offered by FCE and its constituent departments of FCE via the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS), who have passed the University’s General Entrance Requirements of the admission year in question and successfully enrolled, with an aggregate HKDSE score of 25 or above for any best 5 subjects, will be considered.
In the event of re-admission, each student can only be offered the scholarship once.
Application and Selection Procedures
Application for the FCE Entry Scholarship for Outstanding HKDSE Students is not required. The awarded students will be informed separately after the commencement of the academic year.
On top of the entry scholarships offered by the University or programme-host department, if any, a one-off scholarship will be awarded if the admittee achieves an aggregate HKDSE score of 25 or above for any best 5 subjects. The scholarship amount ranges from HK$10,000 to HK$30,000 as presented below:

Bursary
Students in financial need proven by any approved grant provided under the Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Publicly-funded Programmes (TSFS), may receive the “FCE Bursary for Outstanding HKDSE Students” of an additional amount of HK$10,000 for all tier levels, upon submission of an application form together with a copy of TSFS’s Notification of Result to FCE within 4 weeks from the date of issuance of the Notification of Result. The bursary will be released only after the aforementioned documents are received, subject to a successful application for TSFS grant in the first year of study. Note:
^ A "local student" is defined as one who does not require a student visa to study in Hong Kong.
# For the purpose of calculating the admission scores, HKDSE level attainments will be converted to level points where Level 5**=8.5, 5*=7, 5=5.5, 4=4, 3=3, 2=2, 1=1 and Unclassified = 0.
@ Under the "Guideline Governing the Concurrent Holding of Scholarships", a student can concurrently hold more than one scholarship administered by the University in an academic year if the total value of scholarships received by the student does not exceed the annual tuition fee payable plus HK$50,000 unless otherwise stipulated.
The above information is subject to review and change. FCE reserves the right to change or withdraw the scholarship at any time. In case of any dispute/ disagreement, the decision of FCE shall be final.
